How to select a new information system

You just received approval to select a new information system... and you're in charge of the selection process. Start planning your project now with these ten steps from On-Line Consultant Software.

1. Form a selection committee
Be sure to include managers, users and technical people.
2. Define your goals
3. Establish selection criteria
Use the ON-LINE CONSULTANT to obtain pre-loaded functional surveys for your application(s). These criteria will become the basis for the Request for Proposal (RFP)  you send to vendors.
4.  Identify potential vendors
Use the Information Technology Yellow Pages to identify vendors that provide solutions for your application or industry.
5. Submit your RFI or RFP
You can do an RFI first to narrow down the pack.

Don't take shortcuts. Click here to download a demo of the ON-LINE CONSULTANT... and see for yourself  how easy and enjoyable the RFP process can be!

6. Receive and evaluate vendor responses
Use the ON-LINE CONSULTANT to automatically generate analysis reports and graphs.
7.  Select finalists
8. Schedule demos with top two or three vendors
See "How to Make the Most of Vendor Demos" from IT Selection Strategies.
